Dear Parents,

Students will continue IOWA testing this week. We will be testing first period each day, so please be sure your child has had breakfast and is on time to school. A few reminders:  ~ No school on Friday!
~ Save the date for Family Literacy night Thursday, November 8th

This week in Math, we will begin multiplication! We will practice skip counting and making equal groups. Students will also connect multiplication to repeated addition.

In Reading, we will read the story, "Bat Loves the Night." Which we will use to learn how to identify the sequence of events in a story. In writing, we will shift our focus from personal narratives to opinion pieces. This week will be about distinguishing between fact and opinion, stating our opinion, and learning about why we need reasons and evidence to support our opinions.

In Science, we will continue our unit on buoyancy. Students will make boats out of different materials and test how much weight each boat can hold. I added some pictures of our Science experiments to our class website from last week, be sure to check them out!
In Religion, students will learn about the second coming of Jesus, the Last Judgement, and how we can be good neighbors and help others.

Our class website will be updated weekly. Please continue to check the website for any reminders or announcements for the upcoming week. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at
